Description

Honeywell 5881ENM 16-Zone Wireless Receiver

Overview

The 5881ENM is a 16-zone wireless receiver designed to integrate with Honeywell control panels that support RF receiver connection via keypad terminals. It operates at 345MHz and recognizes alarm, status, and keypad control messages from wireless transmitters. The receiver features Honeywell's Spatial Diversity System, which eliminates coverage nulls and dead spots — meaning you don't lose signal in pockets of your deployment area. One or two receivers can be deployed per control panel, depending on the system, providing either redundant coverage or extended range across large facilities.

Compatibility

The 5881ENM connects directly to Honeywell control panels via the keypad terminals. Verify your specific control panel model supports RF receiver connection before ordering. The receiver is compatible with wireless transmitters operating at 345MHz frequency only. If your facility uses a different RF frequency or a control panel without keypad terminal RF support, this unit will not function. Two receivers can be connected to a single control panel to achieve overlapping coverage in multi-building or geographically dispersed sites.

Installation Notes

The 5881ENM draws 12VDC power directly from the control's keypad terminals — no separate power supply required. Mount the receiver in its own plastic housing only; do not attempt cabinet-mounted installation unless using the optional 5881ENHC variant, which includes tamper reporting and cabinet-mounting hardware. The receiver measures 7-3/8" W × 4-3/8" H × 1-7/16" D (antenna extends to 10-7/8" H). Operating temperature range is 0–50°C. Install the antenna vertically and keep it away from large metal objects or electrical equipment that can degrade RF propagation. If mounting inside the control cabinet, use the provided mounting clips and follow the documented procedure to avoid false tamper signals.
