I'm Ted Perry, and while I usually focus on storage systems, I see plenty of access control deployments where small details make a big difference. This HES illumination kit is one of those straightforward retrofits that solves a real problem—people need to know where the exit button is, especially in stairwells or hallways with inconsistent lighting. The green LED gives clear visual feedback without being distracting.
Before you order, verify which HES push button model you're retrofitting. This kit works with PB2E, PB5E, and EEB2 models specifically—it won't fit older or non-HES hardware. The integrated resistor simplifies installation, but you'll still need to run power to the LED, so factor that into your wire pull if you're adding this to existing buttons. It's a clean upgrade for sites where ADA compliance or wayfinding is a concern, but make sure your access control panel can support the additional low-voltage load if you're illuminating multiple exit points on the same circuit.
