Overview

The StarTech IH2006-HDMI-RX is an HDMI receiver designed to extend 4K60Hz video signals over a standard IP network. This device is crucial for scenarios where you need to place displays or video walls far from the source equipment, such as in digital signage, command centers, or large meeting rooms. It operates as part of an extender system, requiring a compatible transmitter (sold separately) to establish the IP link. The IH2006-HDMI-RX supports HDMI 2.0 specifications, ensuring high-fidelity video and audio transmission up to 100 meters (328 ft) over Cat6a cabling.

Compatibility

This receiver is compatible with the StarTech IH2006-HDMI-TX transmitter (sold separately) to form a complete point-to-point or point-to-many HDMI over IP extension solution. It supports 2-channel audio alongside video. The system is designed for use with standard network infrastructure, requiring Cat6a or higher Ethernet cabling for optimal performance at maximum resolution and distance. It is not compatible with standard network switches unless they are specifically configured for IGMP multicast or used in a point-to-point setup with the dedicated transmitter.

Installation Notes

Requires a compatible StarTech IH2006-HDMI-TX transmitter. Both units must be powered via their included 5V/2A DC power adapters. For optimal 4K60Hz performance, Cat6a Ethernet cable is recommended. Ensure proper network configuration if deploying in a multi-receiver setup (e.g., using a managed switch with IGMP snooping enabled). Operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F).
