Overview

The StarTech SV565HDIP is an HDMI KVM extender kit designed to transmit a KVM signal over a standard IP network. This setup allows you to remotely control a computer or server from up to 100 meters away using a single RJ45 Ethernet cable. It's ideal for scenarios where physical access to the host system is inconvenient or impossible, such as in secure server rooms, industrial control environments, or digital signage applications requiring remote management.

Compatibility

This extender kit supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K) at 30Hz, ensuring high-definition video transmission. It is backward compatible with lower resolutions including 2560x1600, 1920x1200, 1920x1080 (1080p), and 1280x720 (720p), all at 60Hz where applicable. The kit supports USB Human Interface Device (HID) connections, meaning keyboards and mice are recognized and function correctly. It also passes through 7.1 surround sound HDMI audio, analog stereo audio, and microphone signals, making it suitable for multimedia applications.

Installation Notes

The transmitter and receiver units operate within a temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) and require a humidity level between 0% and 80% non-condensing. Both units are powered by an external 100-240V AC input, with a 12V DC, 1.5A output adapter provided, consuming approximately 18W each. The maximum transmission distance over a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable is 100 meters (328 feet). The MTBF is rated at 60,000 hours.
