Hanwha TKIS-2 External Audio Relay
Overview
The Hanwha TKIS-2 is a PoE-powered VoIP intercom module designed to add addressable audio I/O to security and access control systems without requiring dedicated analog amplifiers or separate power supplies. It solves the problem of retrofitting audio into legacy systems, kiosks, toll booths, vending machines, and other unmanned collection points where standard VoIP phones are impractical. The TKIS-2 draws power from your network (802.3af PoE — under 13W typical), integrates via SIP/SNMP/HTTP protocols, and mounts either inside a standard 2-gang electrical backbox or on DIN rail, making it flexible for both retrofit and new-build installations.
Compatibility
The TKIS-2 integrates with Hanwha security ecosystems and works with third-party systems that support standard SIP endpoints and SNMP trap communication. It pairs with Hanwha access control panels, intercoms, and camera-based security platforms to extend audio capability. Confirm your specific VMS or access control platform supports SIP-based third-party audio endpoints before deployment — most modern systems do, but legacy analog-only systems will require a protocol bridge or gateway.
Installation Notes
Mount using either the supplied DIN-rail clips for equipment cabinets or the backbox brackets for wall-mounted 2-gang electrical boxes. Connect microphone and speaker lines to the terminal blocks (no soldering required). Wire PoE from a compliant switch or injector — standard 802.3af is sufficient. Configure the unit on your LAN via HTTP or via DHCP if running a management platform. Active Noise Reduction (up to 30dB) filters wind, traffic, and background machinery intelligently, and Automatic Volume Control prevents audio clipping in variable ambient noise. Built-in 10W Class D amplifier handles most speaker loads without additional external amplification for outdoor horns or modest PA systems.
