Geovision 84-POE2411-001U 24 Gigabit Managed PoE Switch
Overview
The Geovision 84-POE2411-001U is a 24-port gigabit managed switch purpose-built for surveillance deployments. It delivers 400W of PoE+ (802.3at) power across all 24 ports, eliminating the need for separate injectors when wiring up to 23 IP cameras plus one uplink. Managed switching — not dumb — means you get VLAN support, port mirroring, and bandwidth management, critical when consolidating video streams from multiple camera zones onto a single recorder or NVR backhaul.
Compatibility
This switch supports any PoE+ (802.3at) compliant IP camera, including Geovision's own GV-series cameras, as well as third-party brands (Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, etc.) that operate within 802.3at specifications. Use this switch with any ONVIF-compatible NVR or VMS that accepts gigabit Ethernet input. It is not compatible with PoE++ (802.3bt) Class 4 cameras that demand 90W+; for those, source a PoE++ managed switch instead.
Installation Notes
The switch requires standard 120V/240V AC power input — confirm your facility voltage before ordering. Mount in a equipment rack or secure cabinet near your NVR or core network infrastructure. Use CAT6 or CAT6A cabling to cameras within 100m (328 ft) to maintain gigabit speeds and minimize voltage drop on PoE runs. The 400W budget means you can safely run 17–19 cameras at typical draw (12–15W each) while leaving margin for spikes; do not attempt to max all 24 ports simultaneously without stress-testing your power supply first.
