Description

Geovision 84-POE1611-001U 16-Port Gigabit Managed PoE Switch

Overview

The Geovision 84-POE1611-001U is a 16-port Gigabit managed switch purpose-built for surveillance deployments. It delivers 250W of PoE+ (802.3at) power across 16 ports, supporting up to 15 IP cameras on a single switch without requiring separate power supplies or UPS-backed injectors. This addresses the core installation problem in medium-scale surveillance systems: consolidating power and network delivery in one managed device while maintaining network visibility and VLAN segmentation.

Compatibility

The 84-POE1611-001U works with any standard PoE+ (802.3at)-compliant IP camera, including Geovision's own GV-IP camera line as well as third-party ONVIF-compatible models from Axis, Hikvision, Uniview, Dahua, and others. It integrates with Geovision Video Management Software (GV-VMS) and standard NVR platforms that accept ONVIF streams. The managed switching capability (VLAN support, QoS, port mirroring) allows you to segment camera traffic from office networks and prioritize real-time video streams.

Installation Notes

Mount the unit in a network rack or cabinet using standard 19-inch bracket support (not included). Provide AC 110–240V input with adequate circuit capacity for full load (250W sustained). Connect uplink/trunk ports to your core network infrastructure. Assign IP addresses via DHCP or manual configuration for management access. Plan power distribution to avoid overloading a single circuit if deploying multiple switches in larger installations.
