Description

Geovision 84-POE0400-001U 4-Port PoE+ Switch

Overview

The Geovision 84-POE0400-001U (GV-POE0400) is a 4-port PoE+ switch that consolidates power and data delivery for small to mid-scale IP surveillance deployments. It supplies up to 70W of total PoE+ power across four ports at 802.3at standard — enough to run four cameras drawing 15–17W each, or fewer cameras with margin for accessory devices. Use this where you need to centralize PoE delivery without the cost or complexity of a full managed switch, or as a supplemental injector for a specific surveillance zone.

Compatibility

The 84-POE0400-001U works with any IP camera, wireless access point, or network device that accepts standard 802.3at PoE+ input over RJ-45. Geovision cameras in the GV-IP product line are direct-fit candidates. It also pairs with third-party IP cameras from Axis, Hikvision, Uniview, and other ONVIF-compliant vendors — confirm individual camera wattage ratings to ensure total port load stays under 70W. Typical deployments include small storefronts, warehouse zones, or parking lot segments where you want isolated PoE distribution without running main PoE budget through a primary switch.

Installation Notes

Connect upstream to your network via the switch's uplink port (one of the four ports, or a dedicated uplink depending on model configuration). Run standard Cat5e or Cat6 cabling from each port to the target camera or device — no special connectors needed. The 70W budget is shared across all four ports; if you plan to run four cameras simultaneously, budget roughly 17–18W per port to stay safely under the maximum. Mount in a cabinet, wall rack, or equipment enclosure with adequate ventilation. No additional power supply is required beyond the integrated PoE injection module.
