Geovision 140-APA903B-G000 PoE Gigabit Adapter
Overview
The Geovision 140-APA903B-G000 (model GV-PA903BT) is a Gigabit PoE adapter that consolidates power and network connectivity into a single Ethernet cable run. It supports IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt standards with a maximum output of 95W—enough headroom to run power-hungry cameras, pan-tilt-zoom units, or multi-sensor systems where standard endpoint power budgets fall short. Deploy this when your switch cannot deliver the wattage a camera needs directly, or when you need to split power delivery across multiple devices on a single cable pair.
Compatibility
The GV-PA903BT pairs with Geovision IP camera systems and any standard ONVIF-compliant IP camera or network device that accepts PoE input. It works across Cat5e, Cat6, and higher-category copper cabling typical of IPCAM infrastructure. The adapter is not limited to Geovision cameras—it can supply power to third-party devices that draw within its 95W budget and use standard Ethernet connectors.
Installation Notes
Run the Gigabit Ethernet cable from your PoE-enabled switch to the adapter input. Connect your IP camera or powered device to the adapter's output port. The adapter itself must be placed near an AC power outlet; it is not a passive splitter—it requires wall power to inject PoE current into the cable. Ensure your upstream switch supports PoE delivery at the minimum 802.3af level (13W) to handshake with the adapter, or bypass the switch entirely and feed the adapter from a dedicated PoE injector if your switch lacks PoE ports.
