Geovision 84-LPC2210-P01U 2MP Super Low Lux Network Camera
Overview
The Geovision 84-LPC2210-P01U is a 2MP fixed network camera purpose-built for license plate recognition on vehicles up to 75 mph (120 km/h). Deploy this on parking structures, loading dock approaches, and perimeter roadways where twilight and darkness demand color plate capture without IR washout. The super low lux CMOS sensor and F/1.2 maximum aperture deliver usable detail in near-total darkness—a real advantage over thermal or traditional IR systems when you need reflective plate surface clarity, not just motion silhouettes. IP67 weatherproofing (full dust seal, temporary immersion to 1m) and extreme temperature tolerance (-40°C to +50°C / -40°F to +122°F) handle freeze-thaw cycles, salt spray, and seasonal swings without sensor degradation.
Compatibility
The 84-LPC2210-P01U integrates with any standard IP surveillance system via ONVIF-compatible network access. It draws 13W maximum via 802.3af PoE—no separate power runs required. Varifocal lens (9–22mm, 2.5× optical zoom) allows field-of-view adjustment from 38° (wide) to 18° (narrow) without repositioning the camera body, tuning coverage to your approach lane width. The camera supports H.264, H.265, and MJPEG compression; consult your VMS codec support matrix before deployment. Mounting adapters include pole brackets (GV-Mount400-1 for 4–6" poles; GV-Mount410-1 for 6–7.5" poles), convex corner kit (GV-Mount300-1), and concave corner kit (GV-Mount310-1)—compatible with existing structural infrastructure without custom fabrication.
Installation Notes
Position the camera at approximate vehicle bumper level, aimed horizontally or slightly downward for optimal plate angle capture. Use the 1/2.7" progressive scan CMOS sensor's native resolution to maximize pixel density on the reflective surface; avoid excessive digital zoom in your VMS. Varifocal adjustment requires a small wrench or adjustment tool at installation—fine-tune focus under actual lighting conditions rather than relying on factory presets. PoE injector or switch must supply 13W minimum; standard 802.3af sources (15.4W budget) handle this without strain. Temperature extremes may affect lens focus point slightly; re-verify plate clarity after seasonal temperature shifts of 30°C or more.
