Geovision 84-DFR1352-1000 Door Frame Card Reader
Overview
The GV-DFR1352 (model 84-DFR1352-1000) is a weather-sealed card reader designed for door frame mounting in outdoor and semi-outdoor access control deployments. It recognizes standard access control cards and connects directly to control panels via Wiegand and RS-485 outputs — no special integration layer required. IP66 rating means rain and dust will not compromise the reader, making it suitable for building perimeters, loading docks, and covered entryways where a hardwired reader must withstand exposure.
Compatibility
The GV-DFR1352 integrates with any standard access control panel that accepts Wiegand protocol or RS-485 serial input. It works with Geovision access control systems and third-party panels supporting these industry-standard interfaces. Compatible credential types include GeoVision access cards, fobs, stickers, and tags across supported frequency ranges — consult the product datasheet for your specific credential format. For face-recognition-based access workflows, the GV-FWC module pairs card data with Face IDs and routes credentials to controllers via TCP/IP or Wiegand, extending the reader into integrated biometric systems.
Installation Notes
Door frame mounting requires secure fastening to the frame edge so the reader face aligns flush with the door plane — misalignment reduces card detection reliability. Wiegand and RS-485 wiring must follow panel specifications for signal voltage and polarity. The IP66 housing is sealed; do not attempt to open or modify it in the field. In high-salt or corrosive environments, inspect the housing annually for seal degradation. Weather covers (GV-Reader Weather Cover, sold separately) provide additional UV and rain protection if the mounting location receives direct sunlight or heavy precipitation.
