Geovision GV-VSM Video Management Module
Overview
The GV-VSM is a comprehensive video management module designed to centralize monitoring and recording across distributed camera networks. It handles up to 64 channels of Geovision and third-party ONVIF-compatible IP devices in a single software platform running on 64-bit Windows. The module provides live view, playback, and intelligent analytics from one interface — solving the integration problem when you have mixed vendor cameras or need to expand a single-site system into multi-location monitoring without deploying separate NVRs at each location.
Compatibility
Supports over 500 Geovision and third-party ONVIF-compliant IP camera models. Integrates with Geovision NVR systems, edge recording devices (network video recorders), and centralized monitoring stations (GV-CMS). Camera discovery is automatic across the LAN. Handles CIF resolution through megapixel streams, including dual-stream support for intelligent monitoring and recording without bandwidth waste.
Core Capabilities
Video Decoding and Streaming: H.265, H.264, and MJPEG decoding with GPU acceleration reduces CPU load when decoding multiple simultaneous streams — important when running 30+ channels on standard business hardware. Display and Layout: Customizable drag-and-drop live view and playback across multiple monitors; supports 4K panel resolution and QView projection to secondary displays for large-scale security operations centers. Remote Access: Built-in WebCam Server enables browser-based live view and recording playback; GV-Mobile Server and GV-Eye (iOS/Android) extend access to mobile clients and field technicians. System Management: Software license management, support for up to 1,000 user accounts with multi-level password protection and expiration policies, system logging, and 3D E-map visualization. Audio: Supports up to 64 channels of audio input for synchronized monitoring across large installations.
System Requirements
Requires 64-bit Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11, or Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022. Baseline memory is 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended for stable performance on 50+ channels). Database backend supports Microsoft SQL Server or Access formats.
