Overview
The GV-VS2820 is an 8-channel H.264 video server that bridges analog and AHD camera inputs into a networked surveillance ecosystem. It converts analog signals (960H, D1) and AHD signals (up to 4MP at 15 fps per channel) into standardized H.264 streams—solving the classic retrofit problem where legacy analog CCTV infrastructure needs IP integration without wholesale camera replacement. At 18 fps per channel for 3MP AHD or 30 fps for 1080p, the unit sustains 144 fps aggregate throughput (NTSC). The compact form factor (200 x 175 x 40 mm) mounts on a wall or in a standard rack, making it practical for both retrofit integrations and edge-based recording scenarios where storage happens on a local USB HDD.
Compatibility
ONVIF Profile S compliant—integrates with any ONVIF-aware VMS platform (Milestone, Axis Camera Station, Genetec, or third-party NVRs). Supports over 50 PTZ models via serial control, enabling remote pan-tilt-zoom on compatible devices. Handles both analog BNC inputs and AHD signals on the same 8-channel input bank, so mixed analog and digital camera plants can coexist on a single unit. Ethernet (RJ-45, 10/100/1000 Mbps) feeds video to the network; optional 802.11b/g/n wireless provides failover or supplemental connectivity. 4-channel audio input (8 channels total) integrates two-way audio or environmental sound recording into the video stream.
