Description

Geovision GV-PA191 PoE Adapter IEEE 802.3af

Overview

The GV-PA191 is an IEEE 802.3af-compliant Power over Ethernet adapter that injects power into a single Ethernet cable, letting you deploy an IP device anywhere in a facility where AC power is impractical or unavailable. At 19W maximum output, it covers the power budget of most fixed IP cameras, compact NVRs, and access control readers that draw under 13W per unit. The adapter accepts standard DC 48V / 400mA input and outputs the same specification to the connected device, making it a straightforward in-line injector for existing CAT5 cabling runs up to 100 meters.

Compatibility

The GV-PA191 works with any IP device (camera, reader, or remote device) that accepts PoE 802.3af input. This includes Geovision IP camera models and third-party ONVIF-compliant devices that support IEEE 802.3af power delivery. If your device draws more than 13W, this adapter will not meet its power demand — verify the device datasheet before ordering. The adapter is not suitable for PoE+ devices requiring 802.3at (up to 30W) or higher power classes.

Installation Notes

Mount the GV-PA191 near the network hub or PoE-capable switch, not near the remote device. The adapter requires DC 48V / 400mA input from a separate power supply or PoE-enabled network switch; it does not create power, it only injects it into the Ethernet pair. Operate the unit between −10°C and 50°C (14°F to 122°F); do not exceed these limits. The compact form factor (43 × 69 × 40 mm) fits easily in wall-mounted cable management or rack-side installations. Ensure your input power supply is rated for continuous 400mA at 48V to avoid thermal stress on the adapter.
