Description

ATEN UE250 Extender Cable

Overview

The ATEN UE250 is a USB 2.0 extender cable designed to overcome the standard 5-meter limitation of USB connections. This bus-powered cable allows you to place USB devices, such as security cameras, barcode scanners, or mobile computers, further away from the host system. It's ideal for scenarios where direct connection is impractical due to distance, such as in rack-mounted server environments or large workspace deployments requiring peripheral placement beyond typical cable reach. The UE250 supports high-speed data transfer up to 480 Mbps, ensuring performance for demanding peripherals.

Compatibility

This extender cable is compatible with any USB 2.0 host device utilizing native driver support. It functions with USB Type-A male devices connecting to a USB Type-A female port. It supports high-speed (480 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps), and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) USB devices, making it suitable for a wide range of peripherals including webcams, printers, external storage, and many types of industrial USB-based sensors or data acquisition devices. Ensure your host system's USB ports are USB 2.0 compliant for optimal performance.

Installation Notes

The UE250 operates as a bus-powered device, drawing power directly from the host USB port. It requires no external power supply, simplifying installation. The cable supports a signal range of up to 5 meters (15 feet). For environments with high humidity, it operates within a range of 0–80% RH (non-condensing). The cable includes a single red overcurrent indicator, which illuminates if the connected USB device draws excessive power, signaling a potential issue with the peripheral or host port.
