Overview
The Middle Atlantic PWR-9-RP is a 1U, 9-outlet horizontal rackmount power distribution unit designed for AV, security, and IT equipment racks where you need clean, organized AC distribution without the cost or complexity of metered or switched PDUs. Running on a standard 15A / 120VAC circuit via a 5-15P plug, it delivers nine outlets across a full 19-inch rack panel — enough to power an NVR, PoE switch, UPS bypass load, and several ancillary devices from a single controlled strip. At 1U and 4.34 inches deep, the PWR-9-RP sits flush in shallow rack sections without conflicting with cable management panels directly above or below. Flat black finish matches standard rack aesthetics. Basic surge protection is included; this is not a UPS replacement and does not provide voltage regulation or metering — configure your distribution accordingly.
Compatibility
The PWR-9-RP fits any standard EIA 19-inch rack enclosure with 1U clearance and at least 4.34 inches of usable depth behind the mounting rail. It pairs directly with Middle Atlantic rack systems — including the Essex, BGR, and WRK series enclosures — as well as any third-party 19-inch rack accepting a two-point front-mount panel. The NEMA 5-15P line cord connects to any standard 15A wall or PDU receptacle. Not compatible with 20A or 30A circuits without an adapter, and the 120VAC rating excludes international deployments running 230VAC without a step-down transformer. TAA compliance is not certified on this model; verify procurement requirements before specifying on federal projects.
Installation Notes
Mounts via two front-rail mounting points — standard rack screws or cage nuts depending on your rack rail type. Route the line cord down through the rack's cable management channel to avoid strain on the outlet face. With nine outlets occupied, the 15A circuit leaves roughly 1,800W of headroom at unity power factor; account for inrush current from NVRs and switches at power-on to avoid nuisance tripping. No tools required beyond a screwdriver for rack mounting.
