Overview
The ACTi E16 is a 10MP fisheye cube camera designed for comprehensive wide-angle surveillance in compact interior spaces. The fisheye lens delivers an expansive field of view from a small form factor—ideal when you need situational awareness across retail floors, warehouse aisles, or office common areas without multiple overlapping cameras. Basic WDR helps preserve detail in mixed-lighting scenes (bright storefront windows + dim back room), reducing the need for separate supplemental lighting. Power and data travel on a single PoE (802.3af) cable—eliminating separate electrical runs and simplifying retrofit installations where conduit space is tight. The E16's discreet cube housing fits existing ceiling infrastructure with minimal visual footprint.
Compatibility
The E16 integrates with standard IP surveillance networks supporting H.264/H.265 video compression and ONVIF protocol. It works with mainstream VMS platforms (Milestone, Axis Camera Station, and others) that accept ONVIF camera feeds. Deployment requires a PoE-capable switch with 802.3af support—any managed or unmanaged switch rated for PoE will deliver the 13W maximum draw. Network cabling follows standard Cat5e or Cat6 infrastructure; no special network equipment beyond basic PoE capability is necessary.
Installation Notes
The E16 mounts to standard ceiling infrastructure via its compact cube housing. Fisheye distortion is inherent to the design—straight lines will bend near the edges, but this ultra-wide perspective is the tradeoff for expansive coverage. Position the camera where the wide field of view covers your intended zone rather than relying on pan/tilt or zoom (the E16 is fixed-lens). PoE power delivery requires one network cable run only; no separate 12V supply or power injector needed if your switch is PoE-equipped.
