Description

Zebra DS8108-HCBU2104ZVW Healthcare Handheld Imager

Overview

The Zebra DS8108-HCBU2104ZVW is a corded 1D/2D imager designed for demanding healthcare environments. Its high-resolution 1280 x 960 megapixel sensor, coupled with an 800 MHz processor and Zebra's PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology, ensures rapid and accurate capture of barcodes, even those that are damaged or poorly printed. This scanner is built to withstand the rigors of daily use, featuring a 6.0 ft./1.8 m drop specification onto concrete and an IP42 sealing for protection against dust and dripping water. The included shielded USB cable and stand facilitate easy integration and hands-free operation in clinical settings.

Compatibility

This corded imager is designed to connect via USB and is compatible with systems requiring standard HID Keyboard Wedge or RS-232 serial emulation. The included CBA-U21-S07ZBR shielded USB cable ensures reliable data transfer. It functions as a standard USB HID device, making it compatible with most Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems without requiring special drivers.

Installation Notes

The DS8108-HCBU2104ZVW includes a stand for hands-free scanning and can be powered directly via USB (4.5 to 5.5VDC). The scanner's IP42 rating means it is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water droplets entering at an angle. While it can withstand drops of up to 6.0 ft./1.8 m to concrete, care should still be taken during handling to prevent damage. The operating temperature range is 32° to 122° F/0° to 50° C.
