Overview

The Aiphone JP-8Z is a distribution adapter designed to extend the wire distance for Aiphone JP Series sub master stations. This unit is critical for deployments where the main master station is located further than standard cabling allows, ensuring reliable communication in larger facilities or multi-story buildings. It acts as an intermediary, facilitating signal transmission over longer runs without degradation.

Compatibility

This adapter specifically interfaces with Aiphone JP Series sub master stations, including the JP-4MED and JP-4HD models. For connections to the JP-4MED, the maximum wire distance is 650 feet. When connecting to the JP-4HD, the maximum distance is 165 feet. The adapter itself requires a 2-conductor wire for power connection from a PS-2420UL power supply, with a maximum distance of 33 feet.

Installation Notes

For connecting the JP-8Z to JP-4MED or JP-4HD units, Cat-5e or Cat-6 cabling is specified. The operating temperature range for the JP-8Z is 32-104°F (0-40°C), making it suitable for controlled indoor environments. The unit's dimensions are 4-5/16" H x 4-7/8" W x 2-7/16" D.
