ATEN 2L1700 DB-25 Daisy Chain Cable
Overview
The ATEN 2L1700 is a 2-foot DB-25 female-to-DB-25 male daisy chain cable designed for extending or chaining compatible ATEN KVM switch installations. At 2 ft, it is sized for tight rack or console deployments where switches sit in close proximity and a longer run would create cable management problems. The 2L1700 provides a direct physical link between daisy-chainable ATEN units, allowing the chain to be extended without introducing an intermediate device or active component.
Compatibility
The 2L1700 is intended for use with ATEN KVM switches that support DB-25 daisy chain ports. Compatible families include legacy and current ATEN master/slave KVM switch configurations that expose a DB-25 daisy chain interface — verify your specific switch model's daisy chain port type before ordering, as ATEN also produces RJ-11 and proprietary daisy chain variants for other product lines. This cable is not a general-purpose DB-25 serial or parallel cable and should not be substituted into non-KVM DB-25 applications.
Installation Notes
Route the 2L1700 between the daisy chain OUT port of the master switch and the daisy chain IN port of the slave unit. At 2 ft, verify physical clearance between units before ordering — if switches are mounted more than one rack unit apart with intervening cable guides, a longer cable in the same series may be required. Secure connectors finger-tight; no torque tool is required for DB-25 thumbscrew retention. Do not use extension couplers to exceed the rated daisy chain length specified in your switch's documentation.
