Overview

The AP128 is a capacity expansion module that converts a Speco Advantage access control system to Professional grade, enabling management of up to 128 doors with 128 reader inputs and 128 reader outputs. This module is required alongside the AP36 and AP64 modules to reach the 128-door ceiling. Deploy this when your single-site installation has outgrown the 4-door Advantage platform and you need to stay within the Speco Professional architecture rather than migrating to a new system.

Compatibility

The AP128 works exclusively with Speco Advantage systems that are already equipped with both AP36 (37–65 door expansion) and AP64 modules. It is not compatible with standalone Professional or Professional Plus panels — it is strictly an upgrade path from Advantage. Once installed with AP36 and AP64, the system unlocks Professional-tier features: 128 in/out reader capacity, 120,000 access cards per 32 users, 512 access levels, 250 schedules, 32 access groups, 50,000 transaction capacity, and floor plans with active icons and alarm acknowledgment.

Installation Notes

The AP128 must be installed in sequence with AP36 and AP64 to form a contiguous upgrade path. Installation requires proper module stacking and configuration within the Advantage control unit. Consult the system administrator manual for module insertion order and firmware provisioning steps. No additional power or network infrastructure is required beyond what the base Advantage system already provides.
