Description

Comnet CWGE26FX2TX24MS Commercial Grade Managed Switch

Overview

The Comnet CWGE26FX2TX24MS is a 26-port managed Gigabit Ethernet switch purpose-built for multi-camera surveillance networks. Twenty-four 10/100/1000Mbps copper TX ports deliver flexible speed negotiation for mixed-speed camera and edge device deployments, while two 1000Mbps TX/SFP FX combo ports provide either additional copper or fiber optic uplink capacity — essential when backbone distances exceed copper's practical limits or electrical isolation matters. Internal power supply eliminates the need for external PSU units in standard rack or wall-mount installations.

Compatibility

This switch integrates into IP surveillance architectures using standard ONVIF-compliant cameras and edge devices. The 24 Gigabit TX ports accommodate any combination of modern IP cameras (Axis, Hikvision, Hanwha, Uniview, Dahua, etc.) that support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation. The two combo ports accept either RJ-45 copper or SFP fiber modules, enabling uplink to core network switches, NVRs, or redundant network paths. Managed switching features (VLAN, QoS, port mirroring) support ONVIF Profile T playback optimization and traffic isolation for high-bitrate multi-camera streams.

Installation Notes

Deploy in climate-controlled equipment racks, wall-mount enclosures, or equipment rooms with ambient temperatures between 0°C and 50°C (typical commercial HVAC range). The internal power supply requires standard AC inlet with grounding — verify circuit capacity before installation. Connect surveillance cameras to the 24 TX ports using Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cabling; use the combo ports for core network uplinks via copper or fiber (fiber recommended for runs exceeding 100 meters or environments with electrical noise). Configure managed features through web interface, Telnet, or SNMP for traffic segmentation and redundancy.
