Overview
The Comelit UT9172B is a surface-mounted wall housing designed to secure two ultra modules in entrance panel deployments. At just 35 mm deep, it installs flush against finished walls — a critical constraint when you need a clean, minimal profile in lobbies, reception areas, or building entries. The housing uses a screw-free metal support frame paired with a die-cast aluminum finishing frame treated via cataphoresis, which resists chemical corrosion, environmental weathering, and UV degradation over years of indoor or semi-outdoor exposure.
Compatibility
The UT9172B is engineered exclusively for Comelit ultra module products. It accommodates exactly two modules side-by-side and integrates with Comelit entrance panel systems. If you are deploying a single-module or four-module configuration, verify the correct housing variant before ordering — housing capacity mismatches will require rework.
Installation Notes
Dimensions are 110 mm (W) × 198 mm (H) × 35 mm (D). The shallow 35 mm protrusion allows installation over existing wiring runs and conduit with minimal wall damage. The screw-free module retention means modules slide into the frame and lock without fasteners — speed up commissioning and reduce the chance of over-torqued mounting tabs. Wall mounting is achieved with standard fasteners into stud or masonry anchors (verify load rating per your regional building code — the aluminum frame is structural but the modules add weight). The die-cast finish is black (RAL 9005). Ensure backbox preparation meets the 110 × 198 mm opening template supplied by Comelit.
