Overview
The Citizen CL-S700III-EPUS (OPT-807) is a short-range wireless connectivity module designed for the CL-S700III thermal printer line. This accessory adds 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Ethernet (RJ-45) network access to printers that ship with USB-only baseline connectivity. Deploy this when your installation requires networked label printing across a warehouse floor or security checkpoint without running parallel USB cables to a central print server — the WiFi range allows placement within typical enterprise environments (office, staging, dock) without infrastructure overhaul.
Compatibility
The OPT-807 module integrates exclusively with the Citizen CL-S700III thermal printer series. It is not compatible with earlier CL-S700 or CL-S700II models, nor with other Citizen thermal printer families. Verify your printer firmware revision before ordering — some older CL-S700III units may require a firmware update to recognize the module. Contact your systems integrator or the printer vendor for compatibility confirmation on legacy stock.
Installation Notes
The OPT-807 connects via a dedicated expansion slot on the rear of the CL-S700III chassis. No external antennas, power supplies, or drivers are required beyond standard network configuration. WiFi connectivity operates at 2.4 GHz only — no 5 GHz dual-band support. For deployments in high-interference environments (data centers, warehouses with heavy machinery), Ethernet is the preferred wired fallback. Maximum effective range is approximately 150 feet in open space; obstructed interiors (metal shelving, concrete walls) may reduce range to 50–75 feet.
