The Camden CM-RH-SG is a stainless steel rain hood engineered to shelter outdoor access control readers—keypads, keyswitches, push buttons, or touchless switches—from rain, snow, and direct sunlight exposure. A 2-inch deep top plate with contoured sidewalls keeps water off your credential reader without blocking access when in use. Mount it over a single gang electrical box or surface-mount back box outdoors, and the included foam gasket seals the gap between hood and wall, stopping water seepage even on irregular surfaces like brick. This is the weatherproofing layer integrators add when a keypad or reader will live outside.
The CM-RH-SG is designed for single gang installations. It mounts over standard single gang electrical boxes or single gang surface-mount back boxes. Compatible with any outdoor keypad, keyswitch, push button, or touchless switch system that uses a single gang form factor—including Sure Wave touchless switches and standard keypads deployed in multi-door access control systems.
Two installation methods are supported. Method 1 (electrical box): Place the foam gasket on the back of the rain hood, feed mounting screws through the front of the hood and gasket, then secure into the threaded holes of the single gang electrical box. Method 2 (surface mount): Install the single gang back box to the wall first, then place the gasket on the rain hood back, feed screws through the front, and secure into the back box threaded holes. Do not overtighten; confirm the gasket has conformed fully to the wall contour or back box rim to ensure a water-tight seal. The gasket material is sponge—soft enough to conform to irregular surfaces but firm enough to maintain compression over time.
