Camden CX-MA0612 Armature Housing for Magnetic Lock
Overview
The CX-MA0612 is an armature housing assembly designed for 600 lb rated magnetic lock installations in commercial access control systems. This component provides the strike-side mounting interface and alignment structure for magnetic lock armature plates, enabling secure door-frame integration in single-door applications. It operates on 24VDC power and is purpose-built for installations where the magnetic lock body mounts on the header or door edge and the armature plate secures to the frame. Use this housing when retrofitting or new-building cabinet doors, electrical enclosures, gates, or access-controlled entry doors requiring a compact, all-metal strike assembly.
Compatibility
The CX-MA0612 armature housing is compatible with Camden's 600 lb magnetic lock family, including surface-mount and mortise-mount variants. It integrates with any access control system that operates 24VDC magnetic locks with standard armature plate geometry. Confirm frame cutout dimensions and armature plate spacing with your lock manufacturer before ordering; mounting surface must accommodate the housing footprint and provide solid mechanical backing.
Installation Notes
Mount the armature housing directly to the door frame using the supplied fastener holes. Ensure frame material (wood, metal, or composite) can sustain repeated magnetic pull forces over the lock's service life — frame deflection under load reduces holding force effectiveness. Position the housing to align with the magnetic lock's strike face; typical clearance is 1/8 inch to 3/16 inch gap to prevent binding. Run 24VDC power lines separately from data cabling to minimize noise coupling into access control circuits. Operating temperature range is 32°F to 131°F (0°C to 55°C); do not install in unheated or uninsulated exterior frames without thermal isolation or housing protection.
