Camden CM-45/8B 4-1/2" Push Plate Switch
Overview
The Camden CM-45/8B is a 4-1/2" stainless steel push plate switch rated 15 amps @ 30VDC, designed for high-traffic door control applications. All-active design requires minimal actuation force and meets ADA accessibility requirements — meaning wheelchair users and mobility-impaired visitors can operate it without struggling. Deploy this switch to control electric strikes, electromagnetic locks, and automatic door openers in hospitals, senior residences, office lobbies, and high-frequency public access points. The switch integrates into network-based access control systems for synchronized request-to-exit (RTE) and push-to-exit functionality.
Compatibility
The CM-45/8B works with TCP/IP-enabled access control platforms and standard 30VDC door strike circuits. Mounts to single-gang or double-gang electrical boxes (standard electrical infrastructure), and pairs with electric strikes and solenoid locks rated for 30VDC operation. Verify your VMS or panel supports 30VDC relay outputs before specifying — older 12VDC systems will require a step-up converter or controller swap.
Installation Notes
Surface-mount or flush-mount installation into electrical boxes. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion in damp or outdoor-adjacent installations. The 4-1/2" square faceplate footprint accommodates standard North American electrical box openings. UL/CSA approval confirms compliance with commercial door control standards. No special tools required beyond standard electrical installation hardware.
