Camden CI-3BX 3-Button Control Station
Overview
The Camden CI-3BX is a three-button momentary control station rated for industrial door and gate operator applications. Housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure, it delivers 3 amperes at 240 VAC and meets UL and CSA safety certifications — essential credentials for hardwired access control circuits in factories, warehouses, and outdoor gate installations. The dedicated Open, Close, and Stop buttons provide direct operator control without requiring a separate logic module.
Compatibility
The CI-3BX integrates with door operators, overhead doors, storefront shutters, and gate control systems that accept momentary contact switching at 240 VAC. Output contacts consist of three single-pole momentary contacts: two normally open (Form A) and one normally closed (Form B). These contacts are rated to carry up to 3 amperes at 240 VAC, matching the current draw of standard electromagnetic lock coils and door operator solenoids. Any system requiring simple push-button activation without field logic or networked control is a candidate — no additional relay or control module needed if your operator accepts direct contact closure.
Installation Notes
The NEMA 4 rating applies when the enclosure is installed with liquid-tight conduit. This allows outdoor use in wet environments (rain, washdown bays, weather exposure) without degradation of the switching mechanism. Indoor installations (NEMA 1 compliant) do not require conduit. All external wiring must terminate in 240 VAC circuits sized appropriately for the door operator load — typically 15- or 20-ampere branch circuits in North America. Button actuation is momentary; releasing the button breaks contact, so continuous motion requires continuous pressure.
