Purpose-built for broadcast-grade CCTV systems where analog camera feeds must travel far beyond copper's practical range without active amplification or signal degradation.

Overview

This module solves the distance and noise immunity problem: run NTSC, PAL, or SECAM video from a distant camera facility back to a central control room or DVR without the signal loss and EMI pickup that plague long coax runs. The 10-bit encoding preserves RS-250C short-haul broadcast video performance standards — meaning you get true video fidelity, not a compressed or compromised stream. Bi-directional architecture lets you send camera control commands (via RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485) back down the same fiber link, eliminating the need for separate control cabling.

Compatibility

The FVTRDM1A accepts any NTSC, PAL, or SECAM composite video source — analog dome cameras, turret cameras, or camera-to-encoder bridges from legacy systems. Data interfaces support standard serial control protocols: RS-232 (point-to-point), RS-422 or RS-485 (2-wire or 4-wire multi-drop). The module pairs with a matching Comnet receiver unit at the far end of the fiber run to recover video and data on the same strand or separate fiber pairs, depending on configuration.

Installation Notes

Transient voltage protection on all power and signal lines handles power surges without fuses or external conditioning — automatic resettable protection is built in.
