Overview
The Axis 02610-001 is a VGA-resolution thermal network camera (640×480) purpose-built for perimeter intrusion detection, critical infrastructure protection, and industrial equipment monitoring. As a fixed box-form thermal sensor, it delivers long-range temperature differentiation without visible-light dependency—solving the core problem of 24/7 perimeter coverage where conventional cameras fail in darkness, fog, or glare. Deploy this on a pendant mount (PT head sold separately) or fixed bracket for guard tour integration and continuous threat detection across extended ranges.
Compatibility
The 02610-001 integrates with Axis PT (pan-tilt) mounting heads via optional PT bracket—specify the PT model at purchase for your coverage distance and pan-tilt requirement. Firmware and edge processing run on the ARTPEC 8 processor, supporting ONVIF Profile S/T/G for third-party VMS integration (Milestone, Genetec, Hikvision, and others) and Axis Companion. Audio support is built in; two-way audio pairing depends on your VMS configuration. This camera is not a drop-in replacement for standard visible-light surveillance—thermal requires dedicated thermal-aware analytics and VMS plugins; verify your VMS vendor provides thermal object detection (person, vehicle) before procurement.
Installation Notes
PoE power draw is within 802.3af budget; verify your PoE switch has available budget before deployment. IP66/IP67 rating handles direct rain and dust; IK10 impact resistance survives thrown objects and minor vandal attempts but is not ballistic-rated. Operating temperature range is −40 °C to +60 °C (−40 °F to +140 °F)—suitable for outdoor and unheated industrial spaces. White enclosure blends with building infrastructure; confirm mounting surface load rating before install. Thermal optics are factory-sealed and non-user-changeable; select your lens configuration (distance/FOV variant) at order time—you cannot swap optics in the field.
