The Axis 5505-191 is a U-shaped 30mm conduit adapter designed to manage cable entry and protection on Axis surveillance camera installations. This is a mechanical cable routing component that addresses a core integrator problem: controlling where cables enter camera housings, reducing stress on connections, and maintaining a professional cable path across multi-camera deployments. The 3/4" (30mm) U-shape geometry creates a gentle bend radius that protects RJ-45 and power cables from sharp angles, kinks, and environmental exposure at the camera junction. Installation Notes
Install the adapter at the point where cables exit the camera housing or wall-mounted bracket. The U-shape should face downward in outdoor installations to prevent water pooling inside the bend. Secure both sides of the adapter to the housing with the supplied fasteners — do not over-torque, as over-tightening plastic threads can strip the entry point. Ensure cables routed through the adapter have slack above and below to allow for thermal expansion and cable flex during wind load on outdoor mounts. If installing in extreme temperature environments (below -20°C or above 50°C), test the adapter material flexibility before full deployment — thermoplastic can become brittle or soft depending on ambient conditions.
