Overview

The AP8441 is a 0U rack-mountable power distribution unit from APC by Schneider Electric, designed to distribute 200V, 208V, or 230V AC power across 24 outlets in high-density rack environments. Where a basic strip just delivers power, the AP8441 adds outlet-level power metering — meaning you can see exactly how much load each connected device is drawing, not just the aggregate circuit total. That granularity matters on racks running a mix of NVRs, PoE switches, servers, and storage arrays, where silent overloads or unbalanced loads are hard to catch without per-outlet visibility. The unit mounts vertically in a standard 0U rack position, preserving all horizontal rack units for active equipment. Operating frequency is 50/60Hz, making it compatible with both North American 208V three-phase environments and international 230V single-phase installations.

Compatibility

The AP8441 is compatible with standard 19-inch two-post and four-post open-frame racks as well as enclosed cabinets that support 0U vertical PDU mounting. It is well-suited to APC NetShelter SX, SV, and AR-series enclosures, which include integrated vertical PDU mounting channels. The 200–230V input voltage range covers equipment rooms fed from dedicated 208V circuits (common in North American data centers and security operations centers) as well as 230V single-phase feeds found in European and international deployments. With 24 outlets, the unit supports large rack populations — typical deployments include multi-channel NVR stacks, edge compute nodes, managed PoE switches, and associated IP security infrastructure. The 9.8 ft (approximately 10 ft) power cord provides sufficient reach from floor-level PDUs or overhead whips to the rack's input feed point.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically in the 0U space along the side rail of a compatible rack enclosure. The unit dimensions are 72 H × 2.2 W × 2 D inches — confirm your enclosure's vertical PDU channel depth (minimum 2 inches clearance required) before ordering. The 10 ft cord is fixed; plan cable routing to the circuit breaker panel or in-row power feed accordingly. Rated at 50/60Hz — verify the input feed frequency matches your facility's power infrastructure before commissioning.
