Panduit MPI588T Industrial Copper Connector

Overview

The Panduit MPI588T is an 8-position, 8-wire IndustrialNet™ Cat 5e modular plug designed for terminating 24 AWG UTP copper cable in demanding industrial settings. Its key feature is the IP67-rated bulkhead seal, providing robust protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water, ensuring reliable network connections in harsh environments. Secondary seals on both the connector and plug offer enhanced protection against contaminants.

Compatibility

This connector is engineered to terminate Cat 5e industrial-grade, 24 AWG, UTP copper cable. It meets all ODVA Ethernet/IP electrical and mechanical performance requirements and exceeds the channel and component requirements of ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 5e and ISO11801 Class D standards up to 100 MHz. The plug itself meets IEC 60603-7 specifications.

Installation Notes

The MPI588T meets ANSI/TIA-1096-A standards, with contacts plated in 50 microinches of gold for superior performance. It is rated UL Type 12, 6/6P, 4X, and IP67/68 for dust protection and temporary liquid immersion. Ensure proper termination of 24 AWG cable to maintain performance specifications.
