The ATEN VS1828KIT is an 8-port 4K HDMI splitter system designed to extend a single HDMI source signal to up to eight remote displays over Cat 6 cabling. Compatibility
This splitter supports a wide range of input resolutions, including 1080p @ 60 Hz and various VESA standard resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz. It is designed to transmit 4K signals (4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz, 4:4:4) over Cat 6 cabling. For optimal performance and maximum distance, ATEN recommends using their 2L-2910 Cat 6 cable. The system is compatible with sources outputting these resolutions and displays capable of receiving them. It also includes IR channel support for remote control extension.
Installation Notes
The maximum transmission distance varies based on cable type and resolution. With Cat 5e, 4K signals can reach up to 30 meters, and 1080p up to 35 meters. Utilizing Cat 6 or ATEN's 2L-2910 cable extends this capability to 40 meters for 4K and 50 meters for 1080p. The system requires power for both the transmitter and receivers. Firmware upgrades are managed via a Micro USB port. Humidity tolerance is rated at 20-90% RH, non-condensing.
