Overview
The VS0108HB is a rack-mount HDMI distribution amplifier that takes a single 4K source and drives eight HDMI displays simultaneously — the right fit for digital signage arrays, boardroom video walls, or control room monitor banks where every output needs to run at full 4K resolution. It supports up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz (4:4:4 chroma), meaning no downsampling at the splitter stage — each of the eight outputs receives the full signal the source sends. Maximum cable run to each display is 5 meters at 4K@60Hz (4:4:4), so plan your rack-to-display distances accordingly before deployment.
Compatibility
Works with any HDMI 2.0-capable source — including ATEN KVM switches, media players, PC graphics outputs, and video processors — feeding up to eight HDMI-equipped displays or video distribution endpoints simultaneously. The onboard EDID slide switch (Port 1 / Default / Auto / Switch modes) resolves handshake issues common in multi-display installs where connected monitors report different EDID profiles; use Port 1 or Default mode when all eight displays are identical, Auto or Switch when mixing panel types. RS-232 control (DB-9 Female, 19200 baud, 8N1) allows integration into AV control systems such as Crestron or AMX for automated source switching and display management. Installation Notes
The VS0108HB is rack-mountable — note that ATEN expresses physical dimensions as L x W x H for rack products, not the standard W x D x H convention, so verify clearance in your rack plan accordingly. Operating humidity range is 0–80% RH non-condensing; not rated for high-moisture environments. Firmware is field-upgradeable (current release v1.1.102). RS-232 integration requires a DB-9 female connection at the control system; verify your control processor's serial port pinout against the 8N1 configuration before wiring.
