ATEN VS0110HA 10-Port 4K HDMI Splitter
Overview
The VS0110HA is a rack-mount 1-in/10-out HDMI splitter that distributes a single 4K source — a video wall controller, a PC, or a media server — to ten simultaneous displays. It supports up to 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 at 60Hz (4:2:0) and 30Hz at full 4:4:4 chroma, which matters when you need accurate color rendering for digital signage or command-center monitors rather than just motion video. At 4K, the maximum cable run is 5m per output, so plan your rack-to-display distances before mounting. RS-232 control via the DB-9 female connector (19200 baud, 8N1) allows integration into AMX, Crestron, or any serial automation system — useful in AV-over-IP or NOC environments where operators need centralized switching control without touching the rack. A micro USB port is reserved for firmware upgrades only and does not carry video or data in normal operation.
Compatibility
The VS0110HA works with any HDMI 2.0-capable source and display combination. EDID management is handled through a front-panel switch with three modes: Default (forces 1080p EDID to the source — useful when a source struggles to negotiate 4K correctly), Port 1 (reads and mirrors the EDID of the first connected display), and Auto (polls all connected displays and selects the highest common resolution). This makes it compatible with mixed-display environments where monitors have different native resolutions — the splitter negotiates a single output the source can satisfy. Deploy it downstream of ATEN video distribution equipment or as a standalone distribution point in video surveillance control rooms, broadcast racks, or multi-display retail installations.
Installation Notes
Rack-mount form factor — confirm your rack has adequate ventilation; operating humidity is rated to 80% RH non-condensing. Keep all HDMI output cable runs at or under 5m at 4K resolution; longer runs require active HDMI extenders or a switch to lower resolution. RS-232 integration requires a null-modem adapter if connecting directly to a PC COM port. Firmware upgrades are applied via the micro USB port using the ATEN utility — current shipping firmware is v1.1.102 (released 2022-12-19).
