Overview
The Altronix EBRIDGE200B is an outdoor-rated Ethernet over Coax (EoC) transceiver designed to extend IP camera data and power over existing coaxial cable infrastructure. This unit is specifically engineered for environments where running new Ethernet cable is impractical or cost-prohibitive, such as retrofitting older analog CCTV systems to IP. It provides a robust solution for delivering both network connectivity and up to 60W of PoE power to remote IP cameras, simplifying deployment and reducing installation time. The EBRIDGE200B is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions, making it suitable for outdoor surveillance applications.
Compatibility
This transceiver is designed to work with a wide range of IP cameras and network video recorders (NVRs) that support standard Ethernet communication. It functions as a pair with another EBRIDGE200B unit or a compatible EoC receiver at the headend. The system supports data transmission rates up to 100 Mbps over coax, enabling high-definition video streams. It is compatible with standard IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE devices, delivering up to 60W of power to the connected camera or other network device. Ensure the headend unit is also an Altronix EBRIDGE200B or a compatible EoC receiver for full functionality.
Installation Notes
The EBRIDGE200B requires a coaxial cable connection between the transceiver and its paired receiver unit. It supports standard RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable, with maximum transmission distances of up to 2000 feet (approximately 610 meters). The unit is designed for outdoor installation and features an IP66 rating, protecting it from dust and water ingress. Power is supplied via a local power source (sold separately) to the headend unit, which then transmits power and data over the coax. Ensure proper termination of the coaxial cable for optimal signal integrity.
