The WV-S2552L is a 5MP outdoor vandal-resistant dome camera purpose-built for high-abuse environments—parking structures, loading docks, transit stations, and secured perimeters where impact resistance and weather sealing are non-negotiable. The 2.9–9mm varifocal lens delivers flexible framing from wide corridors to targeted zoom on suspect identification without requiring a camera swap. Polycarbonate dome housing resists intentional striking and environmental weathering while maintaining optical clarity and frame rate, cutting replacement frequency compared to fixed-housing variants in vandal-prone locations.
Compatibility
The WV-S2552L integrates with i-PRO video management systems, ONVIF Profile S/T-compliant recorders, and third-party NVRs supporting H.264 or H.265 streams. Confirm PoE+ power budget before installation—varifocal domes draw more current than fixed-lens variants, especially during lens motor operation. Works with standard PoE+ (802.3at) switches; multiple units on a single switch uplink may require uplink capacity verification. Compatible with both ceiling and wall mounting via the supplied configurable bracket.
Installation Notes
Varifocal domes require physical focus and zoom adjustment post-installation—budget 15–20 minutes per camera for lens positioning and test streaming using the included focus/zoom adjustment tool. The polycarbonate dome resists direct blows but is not unbreakable; catastrophic impact damage results in full camera replacement rather than dome-only repair. Outdoor thermal stress (–10°C to +50°C operating range) will shift focus slightly—plan for seasonal recalibration or firmware autofocus if available. Wiring runs should remain clear of fluorescent ballasts and high-current AC lines to minimize EMI that can degrade low-light image quality.
