ACTi E19 5MP Cube Camera with Extreme WDR
Overview
The ACTi E19 is a 5MP cube camera engineered for indoor environments where dynamic lighting—backlighting, mixed sun and shadow, or variable fluorescent overhead—would overwhelm standard sensors. The extreme WDR (wide dynamic range) technology simultaneously captures multiple exposures and blends them, rendering usable detail in high-contrast scenes without the halo artifacts or over-processed look that plagues cheaper HDR implementations. This matters in retail loss prevention, office hallways, and building lobbies where you cannot add supplemental lighting or reposition cameras. The E19's compact cube form factor fits ceiling or wall mounts in space-constrained deployments. PoE (802.3af) powers the camera and carries video over a single Ethernet run—no separate 24V power supply required, reducing infrastructure cost and installation labor. H.265 and H.264 codec support cuts storage demand by up to 50% depending on scene complexity when compared to older motion-JPEG approaches. Built-in microphone enables two-way audio and event verification without a separate audio module.
Compatibility
The E19 outputs RTSP and ONVIF-compliant streams compatible with any standard VMS platform (Milestone, Genetec, Exacq, Axis Camera Station, and vendor-neutral NVR systems). Integration requires only network connectivity and ONVIF user credentials—no proprietary plugins. The camera operates on any PoE-capable Ethernet switch delivering 802.3af (minimum 13W budget per port). If deploying across a large site, confirm your switch has sufficient PoE power budget: a single PoE+ (802.3at) switch can typically support 10–15 E19 cameras depending on port count and other powered devices on the network.
Installation Notes
Mount the E19 to ceiling or wall using standard M4 screws into the provided bracket. The fixed 2.8mm lens (F1.8, 117.5° horizontal field of view) is factory-set—no focus or iris adjustment after installation. Verify lens orientation before ceiling mount to avoid upside-down footage. Run a single CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable to a PoE switch port; no additional 24V power line is needed. Confirm the camera is within 328 feet (100m) of the switch to avoid signal degradation. MicroSD/MicroSDHC card slot supports up to 512GB for local backup recording, though continuous VMS recording to a networked NVR is the standard deployment pattern.
