Overview
The ATEN VS1204T is a 4-port Cat5 VGA and audio splitter designed to extend a single video and audio source to multiple remote displays. This device is ideal for scenarios where you need to duplicate a video feed, such as in digital signage, control rooms, or presentation setups, allowing for high-resolution video distribution over extended distances. The VS1204T model supports rack mounting for streamlined integration into existing AV or network infrastructure.
Compatibility
This splitter is compatible with any VGA video source and standard audio output. It requires Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 extension cables to connect to compatible ATEN receivers (sold separately). The maximum resolution and distance are dependent on the specific receiver used and the cable quality. It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200@60Hz at 150 meters and 1280 x 1024@60Hz at 300 meters when used with appropriate ATEN receivers. The unit outputs a local VGA and stereo audio connection, alongside the Cat5 outputs.

The VS1204T operates within a humidity range of 0-80% RH (non-condensing). It requires a 5V DC power input via its DC jack. The device features a 75 Ω impedance, standard for video distribution. For rack mounting, its physical dimensions conform to standard rack units. The maximum transmission distance is limited by the cable type and resolution selected, with Cat5e/6 cables recommended for optimal performance at longer runs.
