Overview
The ACTi Z911 is a 4MP outdoor mini dome engineered for deployments where impact resistance and weather protection are mandatory — perimeter fences, retail exteriors, parking structures, and transit hubs. The Z911 delivers 4MP resolution across a fixed 2.8mm f/2.0 lens (90° horizontal field of view), capturing fine facial and license-plate detail within 20–40 feet depending on lighting. Powered by a single PoE 802.3af connection (under 13W), it needs no separate power supply, reducing installation cost on retrofit projects. IP68 rating handles complete submersion and dust ingress; IK10 impact rating absorbs vandalism and accidental strikes that would crack lesser domes. The combination makes the Z911 suitable for both permanent installations and temporary deployments in unforgiving environments.
Compatibility
The Z911 streams H.265 and H.264 video, making it compatible with any NVR, VMS, or management platform supporting standard ONVIF Profile S and T (IP cameras). Verified integration exists with Milestone Xprotect, Axis Camera Station, and generic RTSP clients. PoE switches rated for 802.3af (13W per port minimum) power the camera directly — no DC12V injector required. Standard IP camera mounts and ceiling brackets fit the dome housing. No specialized firmware or proprietary management tools are necessary; the Z911 integrates into existing surveillance networks without adapter cards or middleware.
Installation Notes
Mount the Z911 on ceiling, wall, or conduit via the included standard M12 mounting plate. Ensure PoE power arrives before network commissioning — the camera draws roughly 10W steady-state, leaving margin within 802.3af limits even on longer cable runs. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 60°C, so verify site ambient conditions in extreme climates (high-altitude, arctic, or desert installations may require thermal management review). The fixed 2.8mm lens cannot be adjusted after installation — confirm field of view during pre-deployment mockup. MicroSD slot supports local onboard recording up to stated capacity as a failover mechanism; optional card not included with base unit.
