ATEN VE816R 4K HDBaseT Receiver
Overview
The ATEN VE816R is a HDBaseT receiver designed to extend 4K HDMI signals from a compatible transmitter up to 100 meters over a single Cat 6a cable. It incorporates a scaler that automatically adjusts the output resolution to match the display's native capabilities, ensuring optimal image quality without manual configuration. This unit is ideal for digital signage, conference rooms, and command centers where high-resolution video distribution over extended distances is required.
Compatibility
This receiver supports ATEN's HDBaseT solutions and is compatible with transmitters that support the HDBaseT standard. It is engineered to work with Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6a cabling. For maximum distance and resolution, Cat 6a or ATEN's 2L-2910 Cat6 cable is recommended. It supports 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz (4:2:0) or @ 30Hz (4:4:4) over 70m with Cat 5e/6, and up to 100m with Cat 6a. 1080p signals can be transmitted up to 100m over Cat 5e/6/6a.
Installation Notes
The VE816R requires a 12V DC power input via its DC jack. It features a 3-pole terminal block for RS-232 serial channel extension, enabling control of connected devices such as displays or matrix switchers. A firmware upgrade slide switch is provided for future updates. The unit requires a 100 Ω impedance cable for optimal performance. Operating humidity is limited to 0-80% RH, non-condensing.
