Description

ATEN VE805R HDBaseT-Lite HDMI Receiver with Scaler

Overview

The VE805R is the receiver-side unit in ATEN's HDBaseT-Lite extension system, designed to deliver HDMI video over structured Cat cable runs to a remote display. It accepts the HDBaseT signal from a compatible VE805T transmitter and outputs scaled HDMI to the connected screen — the right fit for conference rooms, digital signage installs, and classrooms where the source device and display are separated by up to 70 meters of Cat 6a. Resolution and distance: the VE805R passes up to 1080p@60Hz at 60m over Cat 5e/6 and extends to 70m over Cat 6a — a practical ceiling for most single-floor AV runs without the cable management overhead of fiber.

Compatibility

The VE805R pairs with the ATEN VE805T transmitter as part of the VE805 HDBaseT-Lite extender kit. It is compatible with any HDMI source outputting up to 1080p@60Hz routed through a VE805T. The unit supports HDBaseT-Lite AV extenders architecture and integrates into ATEN's broader KVM and AV-over-IP distribution ecosystem. Cable requirement: Cat 5e or Cat 6 for runs up to 60m; Cat 6a required to reach the full 70m span — using Cat 5e beyond 60m will degrade signal integrity. IR pass-through is available via a 1 x Mini Stereo Jack Female (Black) connector, enabling remote control of the source device from the display end without a separate IR extender run.

Installation Notes

Power: the VE805R is powered via a 1 x DC Jack (Silver) — a local power supply is required at the receiver end; confirm outlet availability before routing the Cat cable. Firmware upgrade is handled through a 1 x Slide Switch on the unit — no network-based update path is indicated by the available evidence. Environmental limit: keep the unit in a 0–80% RH non-condensing environment; avoid plenum spaces with condensation risk or uncontrolled humidity. Impedance: 100 Ω — match your structured cabling to this spec to avoid signal reflections on long runs. Keep the local cable patch from the receiver to the display under 3m to stay within spec.
