Overview
The ATEN VS1824KIT is a 4-port HDMI over Cat 6 splitter and receiver kit designed to extend 4K video signals from a single source to multiple displays. This solution is ideal for scenarios requiring high-resolution digital signage, video conferencing, or presentation systems where displays are located beyond standard HDMI cable lengths. The kit includes the VS1824T transmitter and four receiver units, simplifying deployment for multi-display setups.
Compatibility
This kit is designed to work with sources outputting resolutions up to 4K (4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160) at 30Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. It supports a wide range of input resolutions including 1080p@60Hz, 720p@60Hz, and lower resolutions. For optimal performance and maximum distance, use with Cat 6 or ATEN's 2L-2910 Cat 6 cables. Using Cat 5e will reduce the maximum transmission distance.
Installation Notes
The maximum transmission distance for 4K resolution is 40 meters when using Cat 6 cable, and 30 meters with Cat 5e. For 1080p resolution, the maximum distance is 50 meters over Cat 6 and 35 meters over Cat 5e. The system supports IR signal pass-through via a 3.5mm stereo jack, enabling remote control of the source device from the display location. Firmware upgrades are managed via a Micro USB port.
