ACTi A415 3MP Zoom Bullet Camera with Adaptive IR
Overview
The ACTi A415 is a 3MP motorized zoom bullet built for outdoor perimeter monitoring and traffic corridors where you need variable field of view without swapping lenses. The 2.8–12mm focal length delivers 4.3x optical zoom—enabling operators to capture wide-area context at 90.6° horizontal, then zoom into subject detail at 32.7° without losing resolution to digital interpolation. Adaptive infrared illumination (22 LED array, 850nm, 30m working distance) extends surveillance into complete darkness, while extreme WDR processing (142dB) handles backlit scenarios and mixed lighting without the halo artifacts that plague cheaper sensors. Built-in analytics—Video Motion Detection and people counting—offload basic intelligence to the camera itself, reducing server load in multi-camera deployments. Compression flexibility (H.265, H.264, MJPEG) lets you tune bandwidth and storage per your network topology.
Ruggedness and Environmental Rating
IP66 rating means the A415 survives direct rain, dust storms, and washdown spray—a mandatory spec for loading docks, fuel stations, and outdoor transit points. IK10 impact rating (metal casing throughout) withstands deliberate strikes and accidental vehicle contact without optical misalignment or housing cracks. Operating temperature range of −30°C to +50°C handles arctic cold and desert heat without performance degradation. These durability markers matter: if you've replaced a camera after six months of weather exposure in the past, the material spec difference between plastic and reinforced metal housing is real.
Power and Integration
PoE++ (802.3bt) Class 3 power eliminates separate DC infrastructure at remote sites—a genuine advantage in pole-mounted or rooftop installations where running dedicated power is costly. The camera also accepts 12V DC adapter power for legacy systems lacking PoE. Single RJ-45 pigtail connector reduces field termination complexity. Full ONVIF compliance (Profile S, G, T, Q) ensures the A415 integrates with any standards-compliant VMS platform or third-party edge device without vendor lock-in. Two-way audio (mic-in, line-in, line-out) supports ambient recording or remote speaker-down scenarios in retail or access-control environments.
Compatibility
The A415 functions as a standalone outdoor camera and integrates with any ONVIF-compliant video management system—Milestone, Axis Camera Station, or open-architecture platforms. It does not require ACTi proprietary software. Mounting accessories (pole mount, bracket kits) are available separately and fit standard 1-inch conduit and wall surfaces.
