Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP3RD is a 3-foot, Cat 6, 28 AWG UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) patch cord designed for high-density network deployments. Its compact 0.150-inch diameter and stranded conductors simplify routing in tight spaces, such as within server racks or structured cabling panels. The integral pair manager and patented tangle-free latch features streamline installation and maintenance, reducing time spent on moves, adds, and changes.

Compatibility

This patch cord supports IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt (Type 3 and Type 4) Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications, delivering up to the full 100W budget for PoE++ devices. It is rated for Ethernet 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet), and 10GBASE-T over limited distances, as well as ATM and digital video transmission. It is wired to be compatible with both T568A and T568B wiring schemes.

Installation Notes

Constructed with CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) rated cable, this patch cord is suitable for use in plenum spaces where fire safety is critical. The 28 AWG stranded copper conductors offer flexibility but are not intended for long-distance runs where 24 AWG solid conductor cables are typically specified. The product includes pre-installed barcodes for use with Panduit's RapidID software, facilitating efficient port mapping and network management.
