Overview

The Panduit UTP28X35BU is a 35-foot Cat 6A Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) patch cord designed for high-speed Ethernet applications. Its compact 28 AWG solid construction and CM/LSZH jacket make it suitable for data center I/O consolidation, server virtualization, and backbone aggregation where space is at a premium and flammability ratings are critical. The integral pair manager and patented tangle-free latch simplify installation and management, streamlining moves, adds, and changes. Pre-installed barcodes facilitate port mapping with RapidID software.

Compatibility

This patch cord is engineered to support 10GBASE-T Ethernet and is backward compatible with lower Ethernet standards. It meets ANSI/TIA-1096-A and IEC 60603-7 specifications. Crucially for modern network infrastructure, it supports IEEE 802.3af (PoE), 802.3at (PoE+), and 802.3bt (PoE++) power sourcing applications. For 802.3af/at, up to 48 cables can be bundled; for 802.3bt Type 3 and Type 4, up to 24 cables are supported within a bundle to manage heat dissipation effectively.

Installation Notes

The 28 AWG conductor gauge and 0.185-inch (4.7mm) diameter offer a reduced bend radius compared to thicker cables, simplifying routing in high-density environments. The tangle-free latch design prevents snags during installation and removal, preserving connector integrity and reducing installation time. The CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) rating ensures compliance with flammability and smoke emission standards for installation in plenum or riser spaces, depending on local codes.
