Description

Vertiv ACS8032-NA-DAC-400 32-Port Serial Console Server

Overview

The ACS8032-NA-DAC-400 is Vertiv's 32-port ACS8000 advanced console server configured for North American deployments — dual AC power supplies, TAA compliance, and 4G/LTE readiness via external router. It provides out-of-band serial access to 32 RS-232 devices simultaneously, so network engineers retain console-level control of routers, switches, and servers even when the primary network path is down. At 1U and 35W maximum draw, it fits cleanly into high-density network infrastructure racks without dedicated power circuits. Eight USB 2.0 ports extend connectivity to USB-attached devices or external modems, and the onboard SD card slot supports local logging or configuration backup. Dual redundant power supplies mean a single PSU failure doesn't take the management plane offline — critical in co-lo and enterprise data center environments where physical access is constrained.

Compatibility

Designed for the Vertiv ACS8000 platform ecosystem. Works with any RS-232 serial device using standard RJ-45-to-DB9 console cables — compatible with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and HPE routers and switches that expose a serial console port. The 2× GbE copper (10/100/1000BASE-T) and 2× GbE fiber SFP network interfaces let you integrate into both copper-based and fiber-uplinked management networks, useful in environments where the OOB management VLAN runs on fiber infrastructure. Cellular failover requires an external 4G/LTE router connected via USB or Ethernet — the unit does not contain an internal modem, so budget for a separate cellular gateway if that path is required. USB hub support is confirmed, enabling a single USB port to serve multiple attached devices. Compatible with out-of-band network management architectures using RADIUS, LDAP, or TACACS+ authentication (confirm specific AAA support in Vertiv ACS8000 software documentation).

Installation Notes

Standard 1U rack mount at 17.25 in wide × 9.5 in deep × 1.75 in tall — fits any EIA-310 19-inch rack without adapter rails. Both power supplies must be connected to separate circuits to achieve redundancy benefit; single-feed installs negate the dual-PSU advantage. Cellular connectivity requires an external router — provision and configure the router separately before relying on this path for OOB failover. The full-size SD card slot supports local storage expansion; verify card compatibility with ACS8000 firmware release notes before deployment.
