Overview
The ACS8048-NA-DAC-400 is a 1U rack-mount console server from Vertiv's ACS8000 series, built for out-of-band management of 48 serial devices in data center and enterprise network environments. Dual AC power supplies eliminate single-supply risk on always-on management infrastructure — if one supply fails, the unit keeps every serial session alive without operator intervention. The unit ships TAA-compliant for federal, SLED, and government-contract deployments where country-of-origin restrictions apply.
Compatibility
Integrates into any rack environment requiring serial console access to routers, switches, firewalls, PDUs, or servers via RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 ports. Network uplinks via two 1GbE copper ports (10/100/1000BASE-T) or two SFP fiber ports — use fiber uplinks when the management network runs across a long or electrically noisy run, or when you want physical separation between the management plane and the production LAN. Eight USB 2.0 ports support external storage or peripheral devices; a full-size SD card slot provides local log or config storage without relying on network-attached storage. The unit has no internal modem but supports 4G/LTE connectivity via an external cellular router — pair with a compatible NA-band LTE router for out-of-band access when primary WAN links are down. Installation Notes
Maximum input draw is 35W across both supplies — a modest load that won't stress a standard 15A PDU circuit even with multiple units on the same breaker. Unit dimensions are 1.75 in H × 17.25 in W × 9.5 in D and weight is 7.2 lbs; standard 1U shelf or rails required. No internal modem is present — plan for an external LTE router if cellular failover is part of the design.
