The micro box form factor fits installation scenarios where traditional bullet or turret housings create visual or structural obstacles — think retail storefronts, transportation hubs, perimeter walls, and mixed-use facilities where camera visibility matters. Built-in microphone enables audio verification alongside video, supporting two-way communication workflows in access control and incident response scenarios. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology manages mixed lighting — backlit doorways, sun-facing walls, shadow transitions — without the halo artifacts or loss of detail that plague standard HDR. This matters in outdoor daylight scenes where a single auto-exposure can blind you to either the bright sky or the shaded entry below.

Compatibility

The Q22-K1 integrates into standard IP-based video management systems via ONVIF protocol support and ACTi-native management software. It operates on PoE power, reducing installation complexity for locations already running PoE infrastructure. Network integration with existing ACTi camera deployments streamlines multi-site management and centralized viewing. Confirm PoE switch availability before deployment — the micro box draws power directly from the network, eliminating the need for separate power runs.

Installation Notes

Weatherproofing is factory-sealed; do not disassemble housing or drill additional mounting holes after deployment without re-sealing. The compact dimensions allow wall, ceiling, and pole mounting, but verify structural load capacity beforehand — mounting substrate must support sustained weight and wind loading.
